Whether you are planning an eco-friendly wedding, are looking for an affordable wedding dress without sacrificing quality or simply need a dress in a hurry, Bijou Bridal can help you find the perfect outfit for your day!


To ensure that every seller is aware of the terms and conditions of selling items through Bijou Boutique please read the details below. If you have any queries please contact us.

Bijou Bridal will act as your Agent to sell your bridal and special occasion dresses and accessories and will agree the sale price for each item with the you, the seller. This will be detailed in the contract to be signed by Bijou Bridal and the seller. Bijou Bridal will endeavour to pass customer comments regarding price back to the seller, so the sale price can be amended if required. You warrant that you are the owner of all items given to Bijou Bridal for sale.

Bijou Bridal accepts designer bridal wear, prom dresses and accessories, except underwear. The seller will endeavour to supply accurate information regarding the sale item by completing the registration form. The seller’s details are strictly confidential and will not be given to any third parties.

All items must be in as new or immaculate condition and must be clean throughout with no stains or blemishes or tainted by smoke or other odours. Buttons and zips should all be intact and working properly and collars and cuffs must be in excellent condition. Bijou Bridal reserves the right to refuse to accept for sale any item which it feels does not meet these standards. Sale items (particularly wedding dresses) must be in excellent condition and presentable for sale. All worn dresses need to have been dry cleaned, and proof maybe required. If a dress (worn or unworn) needs to be dry cleaned Bijou Bridal offers a specialist wedding dry cleaning service at competitive prices. Dry cleaning fees must be paid up front at the time of acceptance. Should any dress post dry cleaning still have marks or stains, Bijou Bridal will not accept the dress. Bijou Bridal will confirm the cost of dry cleaning to you from the offset. If you have had your dress dry-cleaned, we need a receipt as proof.

Items proposed for sale should be brought into the shop during its business hours by appointment only. Details of which can be found on our contact page.

Items that are posted to Bijou Bridal should be carefully boxed and sent by recorded delivery. Please do not post any dresses to Bijou Bridal without consent being given that we will have in our boutique.

Once we have accepted your dress, you will be emailed as seller’s contract form which you need to download and print and include with the item(s}. We also recommend postal insurance as we cannot be held responsible for any damage or loss of items in transit. We will confirm successful delivery by email. However, if, upon receipt, sale item(s) are found not to be in the condition required, Bijou Bridal reserves the right to return the item to the seller at their expense.

Bijou Bridal will give you at the time of acceptance of any item for sale a Sellers Contract containing a receipt for the items, a note of their condition, the agreed selling price and an acceptance of these terms and conditions.

Bijou Bridal will retain the items for sale in its shop for a period of 6 months. Bijou Bridal shall retain 50% of the sale proceeds as commission. The 50% balance of the sale proceeds will be paid to the seller on Bijou Bridal’s next monthly payment date, either by cheque or bank transfer, as long as the sale has cleared and does not need refunding.

Withdrawal: If the seller wishes to withdraw the item(s) from sale before the end of the contractual period, a fee of £50 will be charged, plus appropriate return delivery costs where required. The item(s) will be returned to the seller within 7 working days of the fee being received and cleared by the bank.

All items left with Bijou Bridal for sale remain the property of the seller until sold and are left at the owner’s risk. Bijou Bridal does not accept any liability for any loss or damage of any type to the items left in its possession. Bijou Bridal does not accept any responsibility for items lost or stolen whilst in its possession. Sellers should make their own insurance arrangements to cover loss or damage to any items if they so wish. Bijou Bridal will endeavour to maintain the items in their original condition and will ensure that they are handled with the utmost care by potential buyers.

After the period of 6 months has expired the contract may be reviewed and extended if Bijou Bridal and the seller are in agreement, if not then any unsold items must be collected by the seller within 14 days of that date. If an item is not collected by a seller within 14 days of the collection date then the item(s) becomes the property of Bijou Bridal and will be donated to a local charity shop.



Bijou Boutique ensure that all dresses sold by us are in excellent condition. We will not accept anything less in our store. However, preloved dresses may have some small signs of wear. If we know about them, we will tell you but it’s the purchasers responsibility to check the dress and ensure they are satisfied with their dress. All dresses are non-returnable. They are sold as seen.

When you’re in our boutique you will have ample time to check you’re really happy with your purchase.

All of our dresses are in excellent condition and are professionally dry-cleaned and beautifully packaged for you to take home. We can even arrange alterations to ensure you achieve the perfect fit!

Are the dresses genuine?
Yes. We don’t import cheap copies from around the world. Instead we source designer and vintage gowns, ensuring they’re immaculate. You are always welcome to come and visit and see for yourself.

Are all your dresses second hand?
No. We have preloved dresses as well as new ones. We will always be upfront about which are preloved and which are new.

Where do you get your dresses from?
Our dresses have been passed on from brides who no longer require their dresses or we have sourced them from across the UK.

Are the preloved wedding dresses in good condition?
Yes. Always. They’ve been professionally cleaned and if they’re not immaculate, they wouldn’t be at Bijou.

How do you handle alterations?
We have a professional seamstress who we recommend. Your fittings will be at Bijou Boutique.

What sizes do you stock?
We stock a range of sizes, and what we have in varies depending on the sock we have in at the time. Please contact us to discuss.

Is there anything I need to know before coming in?
We kindly ask you not to wear makeup when coming in to try on, just to keep our dresses in immaculate condition.

Do I have to book an appointment to come and try the dresses on?
Yes, we open by appointment only so you get the attention you deserve.

Is there parking near you?
Yes, we have ample free parking.

Will you buy my dress back from me?
Potentially. This largely depends on the alternations that have been made. We will happily discuss with you.
